Open Houses

In addition to our regular information sessions and campus tours, we offer a variety of open houses throughout the year.

Richmond Summer Preview

2009 Date: Friday, August 28

An open house just after the start of the academic semester, Summer Preview provides high school seniors a first-hand look at Richmond's top-notch academics, exciting real-world opportunities, and active student and residential life. The day includes panel discussions with students and faculty, admission and financial aid sessions, walking tours, and lunch on campus.

Spider Saturdays

2009-10 Dates: September 12, October 17, November 14, March 20

Spider Saturdays are in-depth Saturday programs for all prospective students and their families. In addition to the regular information session and campus tour, Spider Saturdays include opportunities to hear about academics, student life, and experiential learning from faculty, staff, and current students.

Preview Richmond

2009-10 Dates: Monday, November 9; Monday, February 15

Preview Richmond events are day-long open houses for prospective students and their families. Designed to provide a thorough look at what makes the Richmond experience truly unique, Previews typically include a welcome from University administrators; sessions on admission and affordability; campus tours; lunch on campus; mini-tours of academic, residential, and recreational facilities; and panel discussions with current students, faculty, deans, staff, and admission officers on topics ranging from academics to student life to study abroad, community service, career development, research, and residential opportunities.

MOVE (Multicultural Overnight Visitation Experience)

2009 Date: Sunday, November 8

A program for juniors and seniors who are especially interested in diversity and multicultural experiences, MOVE provides prospective students and their parents the opportunity to meet with University faculty, administrators, and students and to learn more about the admission, financial aid, and scholarship processes. Students also spend the night on campus before participating in the November 9 Preview Richmond event the next day.
