Admission Timeline

Regular Admission
December 15
  • Richmond Scholars deadline (to be considered for this merit-based scholarship, complete admission application must be submitted, including the elements below; this is a non-binding deadline)

January 15
  • Complete admission application due, which includes:
    • Common Application
    • Richmond Supplement
    • $50 application fee or acceptable fee waiver form; fee may be paid by credit card via Common Application or by check after paper or electronic application is submitted
    • Official high school transcript(s) showing grades 9-11 (with raised school seal or school official's original signature)
    • Secondary School Report Form; any report form is acceptable, including Common Application form or form provided by high school
    • Required recommendation from guidance counselor or school official (principal or teacher): only one recommendation is required, ideally from a school guidance counselor, and a maximum of three will be accepted
    • First semester/trimester senior grades
    • Standardized test results: Scores from the SAT Reasoning Test or the ACT must be submitted. Where SAT scores are submitted, the University will use the highest subscores on the verbal, math, and writing sections if the test is taken more than one time. Richmond's testing code is 5569 for the SAT and 4410 for the ACT. Standardized test scores should be reported directly from the testing agency.

February 15

April 1
  • Approximate notification date of admission decision
  • Financial aid notifications sent (if all application materials received on time)

May 1
  • Enrollment confirmation and deposit due

June 15
  • Final high school transcript due
Fall Early Decision
November 15
  • Complete admission application due, which includes:
    • Common Application
    • Richmond Supplement

    • Official high school transcript(s) showing grades 9-11 (with raised school seal or school official's original signature)

Winter Early Decision

    • List of current courses, including course numbers, titles, and number of credit hours
    • Course descriptions
    • For evaluating college coursework, provide college catalogs or photocopied course descriptions of all academic work completed and in progress
    • Official college/university transcripts sent directly from each college/university attended
    • Official secondary school form (with transcript and recommendation by school official)
    • Letter of recommendation from an academic source at the college level is encouraged, but not required
    • TOEFL scores (for students whose native language is not English)
    • If taken, Advanced Placement or International Baccalaureate official score reports
  • For need-based financial aid:

December 1

  • Enrollment confirmation and deposit due 10 days after receipt of acceptance letter

February 15 - for fall enrollment
