Regular Admission
December 1

Richmond Scholars deadline (all applications received by December 1, including the elements below, will be considered automatically for Richmond Scholars; this is a non-binding deadline)

January 15

Complete admission application due, which includes:

  • Common Application
  • Richmond Supplement
  • $50 application fee or acceptable fee waiver form; fee may be paid by credit card via Common Application or by check after paper or electronic application is submitted
  • Official high school transcript(s) showing grades 9-11 (with raised school seal or school official's original signature)
  • Secondary School Report Form; any report form is acceptable, including Common Application form or form provided by high school
  • Required recommendation from guidance counselor or school official (principal or teacher): only one recommendation is necessary, ideally from a school guidance counselor. Additional recommendations will be reviewed with the application but, given the volume received each year, cannot be tracked or acknowledged individually.
  • First semester/trimester senior grades
  • Standardized test results: Scores from the SAT Reasoning Test or the ACT must be submitted. Where SAT scores are submitted, the University will use the highest subscores on the critical reading, math, and writing sections if the test is taken more than one time. Richmond's testing code is 5569 for the SAT and 4410 for the ACT. Standardized test scores should be reported directly from the testing agency.
February 15

For need-based financial aid:

  • FAFSA must be submitted to Federal Processor.
  • CSS PROFILE must be submitted to the College Board.

Bonner Scholars Program application deadline

First semester grades due. All files must be complete.

Arts Submissions

If you would like your artistic work to be reviewed by visual or performing arts faculty at Richmond, you are welcome to submit the following materials to the Office of Admission, who will forward them to the appropriate department:

For actors and dancers, a video audition tape or DVD containing two contrasting solo pieces, lasting no more than five minutes total for both pieces.

For musicians, an audio audition tape or CD containing two contrasting solo pieces, lasting no more than ten minutes total for both pieces.

For composers, an audio audition tape or CD containing two to five personal compositions.

For theatre designers, a portfolio containing up to 12 photographs of theatrical design work (preferably in an electronic format) that includes at least one photo of a realized design or portion thereof.

For studio artists, a portfolio containing up to 12 slides, or CD with 12 JPEG images, or a DVD (all-region, NTSC) or VHS videotape (NTSC) under 10 minutes.
